Localization effort update and talking about the future of this game
Hey everyone, a while ago I opened My Flavor(ite) Kidnapper to community localization and now I want to share some updates with you.
First of all, thank you very very much to everyone who lent the game some of your time and skill to help translate it, thank you so much. ^^
And second, I'm adding Indonesian and Filipino to the list of languages available for translation, I had some people personally asking me for them and the game analytics says there are quite a few players in countries that speak those languages.
Now for the update
Languages with yet no translation:
Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Filipino, Italian, Japanese, and Korean
Languages fully translated:
Indonesean
Languages with some translation:
French - about 40% done
Russian - about 40% done
Spanish - about 20% done
German - about 5% done
So, if you know any of those languages and are interested in helping, please see the original post about the localization effort for more information on how to contribute, all help is very well appreciated. All languages fully translated will be added in a later v3.1 updated.
And speaking of updates, here are my plans for v3.1
I am working on the next update for My Flavor(ite) Kidnapper, it will be a moderate one, mainly fixing some bugs and adding more polish and juice to the game. But besides that, I'm planning on adding DLC and custom content support to v3.1, this way new characters and languages can be easily added without me exporting the full game and you having to download the whole game again. I also thought about the custom content to bring some diversity and community to the game, hopefully if everything goes to plan everyone will be able to add their own characters to the game.
I'm also already planning a DLC that will add a whole new game mode to it, I'm still planning things out, and honestly, I'm thinking about making it an entire separate spin-off game, we'll see.
If everything goes to plan, v3.1 would be the final big update to this game. I would love to pack everything nicely in a Steam release, but it looks somewhat unreachable for me right now, nevertheless, it was an incredible experience working on this game and I'm so grateful for everyone who played, engaged and helped me along the way.
